Our team is the heart and soul of the Wild West City experience! This week, we’re spotlighting the talented Cowgirl Kylee. I sat down with her to discuss her role in bringing the Old West to life, her passion for Western history, and her insider tips for guests visiting the park. Get ready for some behind-the-scenes insights!
Q:
What’s your role at Wild West City, and how long have you been part of the posse?
A:
This will be my fourth year as a part of the Wild West City Posse. My role in this team includes but is not limited to being a cowgirl, acting in shows, working in the general store, at the stage coach, and even help with the horses. Working with the horses and building a different bond with each horse is my favorite part of the job and I guess the people are okay too!!!
Q:
If you could have any job in the Old West, what would it be?
A:
If I could have any job in the Old West it would be a rancher. Working at Wild West City I get to feel the freedom and reward of hands on work. I like to think that all the awesome cowpokes who come to visit joining in our interactive shows get to experience the same feeling of freedom from the digital world.
Q:
If you could have a showdown with any historical figure, who would it be and why?
A:
The historical figure I would want to showdown with would be Belle Starr. I would love to better understand her motivations and experiences as well as her perspective on life as a woman in a male-dominated society, her choices, and how she navigated the complexities of loyalty and survival. It would be fascinating to understand her legacy and how she became an enduring symbol of rebellion and strength as a female in the Old West.
Q:
What is your favorite food at the Golden Nugget Saloon?
A:
My favorite food? The grilled cheese and the apple butter burger or whatever burger they make that was sweet.
Q:
What advice would you give to someone visiting Wild West City for the first time?
A:
If you are coming to visit Wild West City for the first time I would recommend coming as soon as we open. The park might seem small but there is always something to do or watch. Stage coach rides, gold panning, museums, live music, food, souvenirs and not to forget shows throughout your whole visit. Your kids can even have a shoot out with one of our own cowboys or cowgirls. You won’t want to miss a thing
